Still have a car...

it's not fixed yet, but still working, lol! Well, Sean is super excited today, he shot his Elk and hauled it out to peace river to get it butchered. Like a kid in a candy store how happy he gets. Too cute!

Damian's driving lessons are going just fine so fine, the trees move outta the way for him I guess he-he. Jasmine is down at Gramma's working in her restaurant to help out for a while and is enjoying it so far but getting homesick. Plan to get down there by the end of the month so she can get a fix of Tanaya & myself to tide her over a bit longer. Poor kid, hope she can handle being away for a year for school in the spring, we will see I guess. Damian says school still sucks and work still makes him money so not much change there, lol. Tanaya baby is growing like a weed. She is still trying to finish breaking in her first two molars, and is thinking long and hard about walking but no go yet.

I am still plugging away at the paper work, (oh, I have more now as some little bastards decided to break into our shed 'cause I didn't have enough to do oy!) and shopping til I drop, lol, amazing how much of that your "allowed" to do when you lose everything HA! Seriously, not as much fun as you'd think, not to mention that you'd think a girl would drop a few with all the hiking up & down and in & around the stores... but NO! not a drop GRRR! whatever.

House is coming along very well. they got the windows and doors installed Wednesday and are on days off right now. The siding guy is about a third done as of Friday and the insulators will be starting this week. It's coming. Matt (the builder) still says we are 2 weeks ahead of schedule (the move in date is Dec 18th) so fingers crossed things continue fairly smooth so I can maybe get back in a week early, maybe? Please? Ok, seriously just do it. LMAO (they never listen to me)

Hope you and yours are well! TTYL

Driver's Ed...

As some of you might know, I have been teaching my kid to drive for the past year and a half. She was almost there, just needed to get in driver's ed and she'd been on her own. Whoohoo! Kid with a driver's!
Then she got cocky. Started thinking she knew it all and didn't have to listen to me anymore. I'm sorry....who's car is this?!

So, I'm leaving to get Damian from work one afternoon and Jasmine asks if she can drive. I figure sure, haven't let her drive much the last week or so. So off we go to climb in the car and she starts backing out. Now, there is a tree on the corner of the driveway and a fence along the other side. I see the driver side front end is super close to the tree and figure OK, she'll back out straight to get past it before turning the wheel. WRONG! She starts turning the wheel and I start telling her with only a slight edge to my voice to stop. She doesn't listen. I raise my voice with a tinge of panic, STOOP!! She looks at me like I've grown 3 heads rolls her eyes at my drama and continues. The bumper catches, I start yelling FREAKIN" STOP! She doesn't, and as I continue to now scream at her, she keeps backing out and proceeds to rip the entire front end off me car. I am now totally flippin' on her and she (if you can believe it) is still driving! She is now completely backed onto the road and is putting it in drive to go forward. I am losing it. I mean seriously!! Can't you hear? Can't you see?!!! Look at my effing car!!She finally stops after she hit the gas to go forward and I practically came unglued. That's all I need, for her to now drive over the front end and ruin something underneath.
I get, I go stand in front of my car and stare. I am quiet. Jasmine is still in the car going "Mom, what are you doing? Can we go? I am in the middle of the road ya know!" (I shit you not. that is what she said) I say "Um mm, Jasmine you hit the tree. You wrecked the car" Calmly I might add. She says yeah right, and still thinks we're going, lol.

Point to story, dad isn't as calm as me. My logic was, it is done now, no point in continuing to get upset. His logic, WTF!!? enough said.

Cost of repairs: $2700
Time til Jasmine can drive my car again: Never (according to dad)
Lesson for Jas to learn: trees cost money, she has to pay the repairs

And guess what? Damian got his learner's last week. Now I have to teach him. He had his first lesson the other day, and I feel sorry for him. I am a little nervous for the car....lmao. He'll survive I am sure, but will the car?! Mama needs a drink!

Sweet Sophia

My beautiful niece Sophia Grace passed away May 1st, 2009. Our thoughts are still with my brother and his family. She will always be missed, never forgotten.

No comments please.

you would't believe our luck....

Sorry I have been MIA for a while, you seriously can not fathom how freakin' crazy it has been!!

Lets start at the beginning.....

April 6th, I was having a chill day and decided to watch Twilight again that I had just bought. Tanaya was playing in her bounce chair, hubby was on a week trip to fort nelson for work and the other two were at school. So I'm munching away on my healthy lunch of nachos, and watching Bella and Edward fly through the trees when my neighbor opens my back door and starting yelling my house is on fire. She comes racing in and grabs the baby (no trust man, lmao) and runs back out of the house. I'm yelling at her "Did u call 911?" she says no so I grab the phone and start calling as I run outside to see what the fire is. There on my back deck is a small fire burning up the corner wall about 3 or 4 feet. I get the dogs out and then tell the 911 lady (who will not shut up and get off the phone) that I can put this out and go back in the house to get some buckets of water. She starts arguing with me to get the hell out what do I think I'm doing (loose translation, lol). So here I am standing in my back foyer telling her that I can get it out and her fighting back. Then the fire started coming through the walls into the bathroom right where I was standing so then she starts freaking out and I'm still wanting water. As I keep trying to explain to her, this is a log home with 30 years of oil on it. If I don't get it out it's gone. Finally I get out of the house, because well, now it is too big and I can't get it out and she is really starting to annoy me so back out I go. Within 3 minutes or so, the entire back of house is in flames and then boom!! Gas lines explode and the fire blows out all the windows on the back side and enters the house. Meanwhile, I am giving the 911 lady shit because now I will have no house and if she just would've shut up I might of had this out. Dammit!
Now don't get me wrong, I didn't really care about the house over human safety but I had time to save both if she just would've SHUT UP! Mental note..hang up next time.
Cause of fire wasn't investigated but my guess was that a hot ash blew out of butt can and landed on something just perfect. It had been about 1.5 - 2 hours since my last cigarette.
Then if you can believe it, the RCMP and fire men start looking at me like I'm daft because the keys to all the vechile's are in the house and they want to move the cars so they don't explode. Um mm, sorry? I guess it is silly to keep your unused keys in the house, lol. The freakin' 911 lady kept me busy arguing that I didn't even get shoes on my feet or nothing 'cause I was putting it out. Oh well.
Four and a half hours & 4 fire trucks later, the fire was out. and the house was still standing minus a roof but was a goner. Only the fact that it was solid log was what kept it standing. It looked alot like that left piece in your fire pit. The front still looked untouched on the outside though, which was funny. The one pic up top is our neighbors garage, their truck was scorched and melted and siding melted off their house & garage. Sean's one Quad also totally melted and had to be almost completely redone. they offered to write it off but I said no as they never give you enough to get the same one and with the house I figured we had enough tot replace.

I will continue the Bainbridge saga later, Tanaya is awake and vocal....

I give up....

we are never going to catch a break around here for lands sakes!!

The dryer died.

It seems like every time we make a plan and get ready to set it in motion (holidays next week and new doors after) something else breaks around here and we are set back. Getting tired of this...so Sean & I are off today to look at dryers. I told him we can not live without one for long (not enough places to hang clothes around here, lol).

So my coffee is being restricted this morning so we can get to it, lol, hope he doesn't regret that *snicker snicker*

March news

Well, March is almost over and I have slacked hard core in the posts, lol. Shock! Hers a little catch up....
Damian had his 14th birthday on the first. We just did a family thing and will be having' a paintball party for him in May when its warmer. He is still working hard st the Esso. He recently ticked off the mother bear so his going to be spending some "quality" time with me for a few weeks, lmao (I almost feel sorry for him, snicker snicker).

Jasmine is still excited about grad this spring. She';s still deciding is she's going to safe grad or dry grad...no meetings for me until she makes up her mind (too bad eh?! lol). She got her hours cut at Fields due to the economy so she's only getting about 5 hrs a week, I told her to just quit and concentrate on studying for exams soon. So far she's sticking' it out hoping for more.

Little miss Tanaya has 2 teeth now and is sitting with support. We had some issues with her tummy getting used to solids so now she has a regular diet of prunes, poor kid, yuk! She's still bald, and at her 6 mth check up mid March, she was 15 lbs and about 28" long. Growing like a weed...oh the fun we have buying summer clothes, Love it!!

Sean & I are still putzing. I am still working hard on my DT projects and he is all about getting ready for the big back packing trip Damian & him are going on next summer (gave him more to shop for on EBay, lol). We are going to Edmonton soon for a little holiday over Easter break. It will be awesome to see my bro & family. They are moving into a new house so we get to see the new place as well (& pregnant Ann, hehee).

The only other news I have to share is the loss of my dear friend Rae-Lyn. She passed away on March 2nd and she will be missed dearly. It has made it a rough month but time makes everything easier to bear. Take care friend.

Well, my DT meeting is starting, so long for now, tc all.

Anniversary..Really?!

Well, yesterday I woke up to 2 dozen pink and white roses on the table for me. The card said it was our anniversary...I had thought maybe it might of been but who knows these things for sure? I got him nothing, lol. Plan on going to town today and getting him a card at least, maybe a gift we will see.

Well, the rest of my day will be spent tidying up and getting ready for Stacey & family to show up in the morning. They are coming for a visit (it's only been forever, lol) so Jasmine gets to spend part of her day cleaning her room to give it over, lol. There is no school here today as the back roads are all ice. She just had 2 weeks off, went to school yesterday finally, now no buses groan!! Damian has a CSW day so no school for him today anyways.

I can not believe it is 8:05 and Tanaya baby is still sleeping!! Off to get more coffee and enjoy!

Long time no chat....

January has ticked by and I have been TRYING to get some order in my chaos, lol. We finally got our mat leave benefits last week so that was a load off. I just got my new DT kit Friday and am making cards this month, am a little nervous as I am not the best card maker...but I love a challenge...heehe...I'm pretty sure I do anyway ROFLMAO! I am still waiting on the fridge guy to fix my damn fridge (ROAR!) but, deep breathes, he's supposed to be here today to check it all out. If he tells me another two weeks to get the parts and come back then he better be wearing a fire proof suit 'cause my dragon is coming out man! This is ridiculous! I've now had a broken fridge for 21 days and counting.

Tanaya is growing like a weed, she has started playing shy a bit here and there. Really didn't like the Sears photographers, lol, but we managed one smile for a pic. We started her on a bit of real food, she's tried pablum, pears and is currently trying carrots. so far so good, although most still ends up on her bib, lol.

Jasmine is still working, and now has her prom dress. She just nagged and nagged until I finally took her in again and then she found a simple black dress at Pennington's and a slightly fancier dress at Sears but that one is a goal dress (if she loses enough otherwise it's the simple one) now she talking about hair and nails, lol. Girls!

Damian is still enjoying basketball. They had their first tournament last week and did very well. Their jerseys finally came in, thank goodness, it was just sad to see them at their first game...masking tape on their backs to mark the numbers. Sad, seriously..lol. Still working but need to tell his boss that he goes to school and simply isn't allowed to work more than 2 maybe 3 times a week. Hear me roar!!! lol

Have a great day all!
